My heart got stolen by the waves
I´m back from my "vacation" now. 5 days in San Sebastian, a smaller vity on the other side of Spain with amazing waves for surfing. And so I did, I surfed for the first time but more than once. And I completely fell in love. I didn´t want to get out of the water, even if it was freezing cold though I had a wetsuit. Just waiting for the waves, sitting in the clear water, the feeling.. And when I actually got a wave. Amazing!

And it was not only the surfing that I fell in love with. Also the city. Beautiful, relaxed, happy. On time I got the thought about calling my work in Barcelona and quit and just stay. But of course I couldn´t do that. Well, we know that we´re defeinately going back there! Hopefully once in summer and once after.
Also we´re planning on going to Morocco next for surfing and maybe France also. Can´t wait!

Work in Bcn
I got a request about right how I found work in Barcelona and more about that so I´m gonna see if I can put out something here now..

My first job here was in a swedish callcenter which I found via a swedish website. Callcenters are always good when you just moved here and need to get to know the city and people in the beginning.

After less than 3 months I had more than enough of the office and decided to search in bars and restaurants since I´m both educated and have been working with that before in Sweden. But of course it´s a different thing to do it in another country..

So if you already have experince, that´s great! That always help. But still in many places you don´t actually need it as long as you show that you want to learn and are good with people. Many times knowing different languages can help also.

What I did was simply to walk around the city, mostly to english or irish bars, and left my curriculm. Try to always give it right away to the manager because otherwise it´s very easy that it just ends up behind something, all forgotten. And don´t forget that here in Spain they don´t want to read your life story. Simply just put in your cv education, work and abilitys like languages and always with a pciture of you! Without the picture, I can tell you, they don´t even bother to look.

That´s pretty much what I did, and what most of the people around here do. I got maybe 4-5 interviews and 2 trials the first round of curriculums I gave out but I also think that was very much luck. I´t not always easy but just be stubborn and come with a smile. Good luck!

Hi and good bye
You really notice that people come and go in your life. Already I´ve said good bye to so many people in Sweden but also for shorter times, like here in Barcelona. Can´t believe I´ve already been here alomst one and a half year! So much have happened and I´ve learned and changed a lot.

Anyway, here I am now. Sitting at home, probibly gonna make some food before I start work at 5. Been a relaxing day. Woke up and made a nice breakfast with orangejuice and omelette, then made it to the center to pass the office and fill in some papers. Met some street musicians after who offered me lunch so we sat in the sun talking (with my very bad spanish hehe) but it was nice.

Picture from when my mum and her cousin were here. Yeah btw! My mum was here. Only for five days but that was just enough. Had a good time but I think all of us thought it was nice to go back to the "normal life".

Life goes on
Last days been pretty busy. My mom and her friend arrived this sunday so we´ve been out walking and doind things all the time of course. Soon we´re leaving to do a cooking class that my company arrange so I think it will be fun.

Got another photo from Katerinaklio by the way!

I mean, sure she does use photoshop a lot. But she really makes the pictures look amazing. Yup, very nice.

One day, I´ll fly away
Got another picture from the photoshoot I did a while ago. I like it, and the text kind of fits me also.

And now it´s party time! Tomorrow my mum and her friend arrives to stay for 5 days so me and Laura takes the night to go out dancing. Not too late, have to clean the apartment before they comes and also I´m going for a run. I´ve actually been pretty good keeping up with the running. And soon I will starting more with yoga because a friend is starting her own classes so that will be good.

So enjoy your saturday night, go out with your friends or stay in with your boyfriend and have some dinner together. Life is still going you now..

Don´t date a girl who travels

She’s the one with the messy unkempt hair colored by the sun. Her skin is now far from fair like it once was. Not even sun kissed. It’s burnt with multiple tan lines, wounds and bites here and there. But for every flaw on her skin, she has an interesting story to tell.

Don’t date a girl who travels. She is hard to please. The usual dinner-movie date at the mall will suck the life out of her. Her soul craves for new experiences and adventures. She will be unimpressed with your new car and your expensive watch. She would rather climb a rock or jump out of an airplane than hear you brag about it.

Don’t date a girl who travels because she will bug you to book a flight every time there’s an airline seat sale. She wont party at Republiq. And she will never pay over $100 for Avicii because she knows that one weekend of clubbing is equivalent to one week somewhere far more exciting.

Chances are, she can’t hold a steady job. Or she’s probably daydreaming about quitting. She doesn’t want to keep working her ass off for someone else’s dream. She has her own and is working towards it. She is a freelancer. She makes money from designing, writing, photography or something that requires creativity and imagination. Don’t waste her time complaining about your boring job.

Don’t date a girl who travels. She might have wasted her college degree and switched careers entirely. She is now a dive instructor or a yoga teacher. She’s not sure when the next paycheck is coming. But she doesn’t work like a robot all day, she goes out and takes what life has to offer and challenges you to do the same.

Don’t date a girl who travels for she has chosen a life of uncertainty. She doesn’t have a plan or a permanent address. She goes with the flow and follows her heart. She dances to the beat of her own drum. She doesn’t wear a watch. Her days are ruled by the sun and the moon. When the waves are calling, life stops and she will be oblivious to everything else for a moment. But she has learned that the most important thing in life isn’t surfing.

Don’t date a girl who travels as she tends to speak her mind. She will never try to impress your parents or friends. She knows respect, but isn’t afraid to hold a debate about global issues or social responsibility.

She will never need you. She knows how to pitch a tent and screw her own fins without your help. She cooks well and doesn’t need you to pay for her meals. She is too independent and wont care whether you travel with her or not. She will forget to check in with you when she arrives at her destination. She’s busy living in the present. She talks to strangers. She will meet many interesting, like-minded people from around the world who share her passion and dreams. She will be bored with you.

So never date a girl who travels unless you can keep up with her. And if you unintentionally fall in love with one, don’t you dare keep her. Let her go.

Surfing!
So, now me and Laura decided that we´re going to San Sebastian in March! To go surfing and also work on her school project. Only for a coulpe of days but I think It´ll be really good.

It is really a beautiful city. I have actually been thinking about moving there maybe after the summer. It will be better practice for my spanish and also better waves for surfing. But we´ll see what happens on the way.
Been talking to Giulia so we are maybe going to France for one week or two in August with some friends because we could borrow a house there. Also I´m thinking about making my first trip so London and of course there´s a lot more places I wanna go to! So we´ll see how much I have time with and can afford. :)

Party time!
Had a good day yesterday. First I was longboarding with Laura and Kifa to the beach for a coffee. Cleaned and changed the furnitures in the house and then work of course. On the night we opened a bottle cava and went dancing for some hours.I really love dancing, just going crazy on the dancefloor!

And tonight another party. A friend is having her birthdayparty and the theme is tropical so I have to find some colourful clothes to wear. It´s now that I realise that I have a lot black and white clothes.. Well, I figure something out. Thinking about going to the park and take some flowers to have in the hair.

First, out with the dog!

Because I´m happy
Title: From a song. Because I just listened to it, tried to get another song from my head which I´ve been having since three days now (Well, well, well - Duffy).

So, wednesday 9pm.. What to do? Well, the thing is that I just went to the bar and had coffe with kaluha in (barman putted in without me knowing it) so now I just have to do something!

Been pretty active all day today actually. Went skating to the beach with Laura, Giulia and Kifa and had a coffe and after that we went to ate buffé in a chinese restaurant. Got sooo full phuu
Hm better go for a walk with the dog, change clothes and go for a beer! What a life I have.. Not complaining though!

Oh, I found these pictures from last year whem Laura was living here. Same place where we were today.

Hmm guess I still look pretty much the same haha

So what is your plans for today?
Must say that had a good start of the day. Went for a run with my dog on the beach, a little further than usual. Had some fruits and then went for breakfast in a café with Laura, talking about life. Even went for smoothies after that in "Juice Jones" or something like that it was called. So going for a walk with Kifa soon and help Laura carry some stuff for a photoshoot in an apartment. Then, of course, work.

So this is the fresh juice place, very nice and colourful!
Oh, and by the way. We got a new couch table in our living room and it´s just awesome!!

Yes it´s a surfing board. But we´re probibly gonna change it for something else because the computers gets warm and melt the wax on it... Love the idea anyway <3

Next!
So remember that I was in a photoshoot like one month ago or something? I got another picture from there now!

I´m a very big fan of this picture, Like the position of me and that. But still I guess it is a quite nice picture.

Anyway, it will get more soon because Laura decided to have me in here school reportage! She is here to study photography so she have to do some different kind of photos so I´m gonna help her.

And also, I´ve been speaking about looking for another job. I have this great oppertunity now! There is a new bar in Barceloneta, right next to the beach, Surf house, who´s looking for waitresses for Mars. So I talked to the guy because I know some people there and it´s very possible for me to get it I think! That would really be my dream place to work in as a waitress here in Barcelona. It´s a beautiful place, everyone working there surfs, right next to the beach so when I finish a shift I can just jump into the sea and just a lot of benefits! So I´m really hoping for this now..

Oh, and I just changed room (again). But now I have big bed and yesterday we went to ikea so got a lot of new stuff in there. Looks pretty nice actually.
Now it´s time to go our for a run, working three hours this night (why bother??) and maybe go for a beer after that.
Have a nice day ~

New year, new life
I really have a good feeling about this year! A lot of things will happen and even if it´s not good, I will make it good.

So now Laura, my friends from Holland, have finally moved in! Been here a couple of days already but we´ve been pretty busy going to bars, working, clubbing, skating lalala....Having a great time anyway and we actually manage ta stay healthy with good food and running (except from all the beers and shots..)

So so far I´ve had a good start of the new year. What I´m thinking about next is if I should start looking for another work. I should. But it´s just so comfortable to stay in the work I have. And I do have a lot of fun. Though I would like something more serious and better pay.
I´m thinking about one of Barcelonas biggest night clubs. Could be something..

Well, I have like to days to think about it. Probibly will just forget about it hoho

Going for a shower, wanna go out in the sun! (Yes, we have sunny nice weather and don´t need to wear winter jackets. How do you feel now??) Work for three hours tonight whooo

Thinking about christmas in the sunshine
I can barely believe it but In less than one week it´s christmas!! And today I had breakfast in the morningsun on a terrasse and went for a run in only a top. Can´t complain but it dosen´t really fit, not what I´m used to haha

So, monday is the day. I´m going to Sweden to meet my family and some friends. Only for a couple of days but that is enough. Then coming back for new year when I also will be working, of course.. But I think it could be pretty fun anyway! Being drunk behind the bar with more drunk friends on the otherside. But who´s having my new years-kiss?
Well, how it looks now it´s probibly Giulia, my flat mate who´s getting it.. Sad, yes I know

So got the running and shower done. Work at 7. Better go for a coffe!

I killed the surprise
So it happened. I didn´t plan it. It just came out. But now the surprise is ruined...
Yeah, I told my mum that I´m coming home for christmas!

Ahh I´m really looking forward for this, even though it´s only for 5 days. I´m actually gonna be with my family this christmas. Hopefully it´s snow also, dont see that very often since I moved here haha
I still love building things in the snow, making snow angels and having snowballs fights! But hopefully I can save enough money to go to Andorra again this spring. Wanna rent a little house with some friends and go snowboarding. f you haven´t been there, go. It´s beautiful and the air is amazingly fresh to breath! Probibly some of you haven´t heard about it. Andorra is On of the smallest countries and is placed between France and Spain. And yes, you schould still go there.

Now I schould get dressed and out! Have to buy new shoes and stuff.. What I love here is that I can bring my dog when I´m shopping because almost every store aloud dogs inside. And Kifa is great because many times she just lay down somewhere and then I can walk around looking at the stuff until I´m finished and then she comes. Perfect!

Ice skating
This weekend have been just great! The friday I went with two others ice skating in Plaza Catalunya. They have set up a big tent with ice inside there and for 7 euros you can skate for a half hour. But we stayed longer, it´s not like they take your time or anything.

Yesterday I met a friend in the bar, preperad some sandwiches and took the train outside Barcelona and walked around in the mountains. It was beautiful and the weather amazing so it was a really good day. Then we went to a castle there where we know the guy who´s taking care of it and set up a fire inside, drank some coffe and I actually fell asleep.
And of course Kifa was with us all time! (Not ice skating). She loves the mountains, Just running around discorvering things without a leash or anything.

Ahh I really wish I had a camera these days but no, that one disappeared with the bag in the stupid robbery. Well, Try to imagine it!

One of the photos from the photoshoot with Katerinaklio which I tolf you about. Have only got this one so far but I like it actually. Couldn´t recognise that it was me at first haha

Now I´m going to a quick shower and then I´m out! My last day off and I wanna enjoy it. You schould to, just because it´s sunday it dosen´t mean that nothing happens or nothing schould happen. Go go go!

I just got robbed..
So, it finally happened. I´ve pretty much just been waiting for it and after 1 year and 2 months it actually happened. I got robbed.
Lost everything; my phone, keys to both the bar and home (and we just changed the stupid lock!!) and the wallet which had my driverslicense, both swedish and spanish creditcard, information about different stuff, NIE (my spanish personal number) and I´m sure there was more. But well well, what to do? It´s still just material stuff which I can replace. I had like 5 euros there because luckily, my work decided to give us our pay one day later so the stupid robber didn´t really earn anything. HA!

So this happened last night. And today I´ve already blocked the spanish creditcard and ordered a new one, got a new sim card and had a extra phone at home and also made new copies of the keys. I will survive!
But of course it´s still shit that it happens. I liked that bag..

What happened was.. I was kind of a liiiittle drunk, and very upset because I just had a fight with my flat mate so I decided to go home. I was in our bar doing a quiz, or at least tried. So I walked about two minutes, was in the middle of a small square in the middle of the city, when a guy with a hoodie all of sudden runs up from behind me and grabs my bag and just run away as fast as he can. I started to run after him but gave up after 5 minutes since I was wearing highheals and couldn´t run very fast you know..
So back to the bar and cry some more and a friend take me home and make me sleep. Aaaaahhhh what a night!

Well, I´m a positive person and don´t really give a shit anymore. It happens, specially in Barcelona, and sometimes I think it´s good to loose some stuff because it´s just stupid stuff anyway! Makes you think in a different way.

God, made a long writing now. Well, better Show some pictures from the other day when me and Giulia went drunk in the bar and people draw stuff in my face! And the christmas decoration I put up in work!

I think I was some mix of a cat, a santas helper and a clown...

So, movie time!! Just finished a good meal of meatballs with potatoe and saus I made. For you who dosent know it, I´m actually a great chef but pretty much stopped cooking when I broke up with my ex. Shit happens, remember that.

Christmas lightning
Barcelona is beautiful right now! I mean, it´s always beautiful but now they finally put on, like I´ve mentioned before, the christmas lights allt over the city!

It is everywhere!!
And sorry for bad images, photos with the phone dosen´t have very high quality..

Ahh and this day! Working half day and being soo hangover. Drunk on wine is never a good idea, remember that. But it was fun of course hehe
And when I finally finish and going home to take a nap, of course I´m locked out because the door decided to not be opened at all, by anyone. We called a locksmith and he actually drilled it all open before he could open the door. So after three hours we could finally come in to our home!

Well, time for some toasted bread (because I pretty much only go grossery shopping 1-2 times/month so rarely have any food at home, or a lot but nothing that fits together to make a meal) and then.. Maybe going out for a drink, A girl from work is having her last week here before she goes home to New Zeeland so better take the time! Happy tuesday!!

Food, some more food and a lot more food
Just arrived home from work. Been pretty busy today actually so it was good, time goes faster and it´s not as boring as the days where there´s nothing to do and I´m just standing in the bar waiting..
Same yesterday, and I´ve had a lot of energy lately (probibly because there´s not as much party as in the summer so I actually take time to rest hehe). And still I go up at 8 everymorning. Even yesterday when I was working night, had the photoshoot you know.
It was really fun! But freaking cooooold. We were at the beach, sitting on rocks and stuff and I was only wearing this thin summerdress brrrr
But I survived! And in about two weeks I will see the results, hopefully something good :)

Well, I don´t have any new pictures or anything so.. Here´s a picture of me eating chocolate from my hands! I was making chocolate balls...

And I´m so full right now.. Been all day. Because there was some misunderstandings between me and the chef this morning so when I asked for a bikini (ham/cheese sandwich) he made first a plate of cheese/chorizo and when I tried to explain it was from the breakfast menu he heard a full english breakfast. And then I had to eat it all... When I just had had a massive breakfast myself gaaah

So let´s wait a couple of hours so I can eat some more later hihi
Now; I´m not gonna do a shit! Enjoy your sunday funday

The lights are on!
Now they have finally turned on all the christmas lights all over Barcelona, and it´s beautiful!
In every neighborhood they have different kinds and it´s stunning. Maybe that I go around tomorrow after work to take photos of all the different one. I specially want to see them in Gracia, the more fancy neighborhood. They always do that little extra.

Now I´m preparing myself for the day. In this too cold apartment.. Hate that they don´t have any central heating or anything here. I´m surviving with small heaters on the floor but I do not wanna see the bills after this month..
Well well, what to do? I have to get up anyway and I have to take that torturing shower. Going for the photoshoot in one hour. Was supposed to do it yesterday but I kind off overslept.. Ooops
And at 5 I start work. Not very fun in the bar anymore since we have very few cusomters now and cut down on the staff so we´re only two persons in the bar. But well, just a few months and then things will start to happen! See if I start looking for something else soon also.

So enjoy the day, it´s almost christmas! ~

Starting to be a home. My home.
For two days I have actually been pretty productive at home. Cleaning, moving some furnitures and today I fixed a little on the balcony in the livingroom. Got some new plants and cleaned and I must say that I´m really happy with the result!

And yes, we have placed the thing for drying clothes outside the balcony. It´s effective!

And now I´ve started to think so much about next year, when we are moving from this apartment. We have contract here for one year, after that I´m gonna find a really nice apartment. Big windows, terrace and probibly without furnitures so I can decide myself how I want it. Sure, I want to travel and maybe live somewhere else, but I still want to come back to Barcelona whenever I feel like it so I´m gonna have an apartment here and rent out the rooms or something like that. We´ll see what happens simply!

My future terrace, I´ve got big plans!
Lots of plants, of course. I can have a bar there, a textile like a "roof" covering maybe half of it. Nice grill, some couch and chairs... Ahhh dreaming....

Well, better get in to the shower. It´s a nice day outside and I want to do something. Goooo
